What is your job title?
Senior Account Manager
What does that mean you actually do?
I manage the relationships and the projects for a set of key accounts. In addition to this I also help manage and support a team of six Account Managers. I get involved in every aspect of the registration process for clients’ events in various capacities, from strategic planning to post-show analysis.
What is the best part of your job?
The people! Working with my clients and colleagues is an absolute pleasure, especially when we’re exceeding our clients’ expectations or lending a helping hand to the team.
Are you a tea or coffee drinker?
100% coffee. Black, white, sweetened, unsweetened, as long as there is coffee it’s a good day…
What is the funniest thing that’s happened to you on-site?
I get a real buzz from going on-site and it’s great to see all that you and your clients have worked towards come to fruition. The ‘work hard, play hard’ motto really is applicable for when we’re on-site and we tend to have a lot of fun. The time the client played Hammertime over the tannoy for me when I walked into the hall must be in my top 3 funniest moments that springs to mind.
Tell me about your biggest challenge in setting up a show?
Every show is unique, which means they present different challenges, but this makes it interesting. However, I think that in our current climate, with all the challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic, this must be by far the biggest one I have ever experienced.
